RCIA

Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults and Children who have reached catechetical age

Sessions begin on Tuesday, August 22 at 7:00 pm at St. Denis basement. Please contact the office if you are interested or know someone who wants to be Catholic.

The RCIA is the process the Catholic Church uses to bring unbaptized adults into the Church. It is adapted for those baptized into another faith tradition who wish to profess faith and enter into full communion with the Roman Catholic Church.

Anyone over the age of reason and has reached catechetical age is considered an adult. The RCIA process is adapted for children. Any unbaptized child who has reached catechetical age will be fullly initiated into the life of the Catholic Church at the Easter vigil as per the laws of the Church.

It is a process of conversion of heart and mind and a process of preparation for full and active participation in the life of the Church. It culminates with the celebration of Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist at the Easter Vigil.

Please contact Jane Pierron at 937-526-4945 or jane@bfvcatholic.org if you have questions and/or are interested in joining us in worship, prayer, learning and service.
